Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Medical and Allied Professional
This accredited eight-hour continuing education/certification program emphasizes evidence-based brief interventions for the treatment of nicotine dependence. Pathophysiology of nicotine addiction, pharmacotherapy, practical counseling skills, and case vignettes are included within the applied curricula. 03
Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals INSTRUCTOR Certification
Upon successful completion of the Basic Skills certification program, individuals are eligible to register for the accredited Instructor eight-hour continuing education/certification workshop. Instructor certification candidates learn and practice the methods and techniques to teach the Basic Skills program. They receive multimodal educational tools tailored to meet the needs of medical and allied health provider audiences. 04
Pharmacotherapy Companion Guide
The Pharmacotherapy Companion Guide serves as a supplement to the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Medical and Allied Health Professionals certification program. The Guide is also used to support other HealthCare Partnership continuing education/certification programs that target point-of-care providers who monitor medication therapy and/or who are prescribers. The Guide contains information that is specific to the pharmacotherapy treatment of nicotine dependence. 05
Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Maternal and Child Health
This program was originally designed for Women, Infants, & Children [WIC] Community Nutrition Workers. The accredited eight-hour continuing education/certification program teaches brief interventions with an emphasis on the use of nicotine products during pregnancy/
postpartum and the effects of environmental tobacco smoke on the well-being of children and families. Certification candidates receive multimodal educational tools tailored to meet intervention needs of women, children and families moving toward nicotine free lifestyles.

Maternal and Child Health Companion Guide
The Companion Guide is a supplemental resource tool to the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Maternal and Child Health program. The Guide introduces participants to evidence-based health messages that are culturally responsive to Native Women and their communities. 07

Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities
The accredited eight-hour continuing education/certification program teaches brief interventions with an emphasis on the use of commercial nicotine products used within Native American communities. The program offers culturally responsive treatment strategies to intervene with Native peoples dependent on commercial nicotine products. Certification candidates receive adapted multimodal educational tools specific to Native American health. 09
Visual Guide for Presentations: "Breaking the Hook"
“Breaking the Hook” flip chart sets the stage to address commercial tobacco use within a talking circle format. The flip chart includes graphics contributed by Native children. It is easily transportable and may be used to facilitate brief interventions within a variety of settings. 10
Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills for Native Communities INSTRUCTOR Certification
Upon successful completion of the Basic Tobacco Intervention Skills Certification for Native Communities program, individuals are eligible to register for the accredited Instructor eight-hour continuing education/certification workshop. Instructor certification candidates learn and practice the methods and techniques that are culturally responsive to the use of commercial tobacco within Native Communities. Certification candidates receive multimodal educational tools adapted to meet intervention approaches specific to American Indian communities. 11
Treatment Specialist Certification for Nicotine Dependence
This evidence-based continuing education/certification program is targeted to individuals who deliver intensive nicotine dependence treatment services. Designed as a case-study model, the curricula includes a 5A wellness self-management algorithm, wellness self-management plan, counseling skills, standard assessments, with practice in developing a teaching case study. 12
Treatment Specialist INSTRUCTOR Certification for Nicotine Dependence
Upon successful completion of the Treatment Specialist certification program, individuals are eligible to register for the eight-hour continuing education/certification workshop to learn and practice the methods and techniques to teach the Treatment Specialist program. Participants receive multimodal educational tools to facilitate workshop instruction. 13
Instructional Specialist Certification
The eight-hour continuing education/certification Instructional Specialist program is designed for those who are interested in teaching and replicating the HealthCare Partnership Nicotine Dependence Treatment Continuing Education Program model. The course introduces participants to the principles of adult learning theory, along with the adult education programming methods used to design the HealthCare Partnership model. The workshop emphasizes application of practical skills and presents the foundational techniques to ensure fidelity of program replication. 14
