Presented with Certificate of Excellence

Tucson Heart

Tucson, Arizona – March 12, 2007 – Beginning Saturday, March 17, 2007, Tucson Heart Hospital (THH) will become an entirely tobacco-free environment. All employees, patients, and visitors will be prohibited from using cigarettes or any form of tobacco anywhere on the hospital’s property. Tucson Heart Hospital administrators and staff have been working to prepare for this milestone for months.

The launch of the THH tobacco-free campus will be marked by a health fair for employees and medical staff in the lobby of Tucson Heart Hospital on Tuesday, March 20. Associates will have access to useful information about smoking cessation and nutrition, and watch demonstrations of exercise techniques and stress-relieving activities - all in an effort to support those employees who wish to stop smoking in conjunction with the tobacco-free transition, and promote a healthy lifestyle for all staff. At Noon, Tucson Heart Hospital CEO Ed Myers will be presented with a certificate from the Arizona Department of Health Services certifying that THH has met all criteria to qualify as an official “Quit Zone.”
